The International Association of Public Diplomacy Experts (IAPDE) has expanded its membership with the addition of a prominent specialist in international relations. By the decision of the Board of May 19, 2026, prominent Syrian diplomat and statesman Bashar Jaafari has officially joined the organization.
Ambassador Bashar Jaafari possesses extensive experience in top-tier diplomatic roles. He previously served as the head of the diplomatic mission of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation and, for a long-standing period, held the position of Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN). His profound expertise in global politics, multilateral diplomacy, and Middle Eastern affairs is intended to provide a substantial contribution to the analytical and project-based activities of the IAPDE.
The participation of Bashar Jaafari in the activities of the Association is aimed at further strengthening international dialogue, developing humanitarian ties, and promoting the institutions of public diplomacy.
