On April 24th each year, the International Association of Public Diplomacy Experts joins all Armenians in solemn remembrance of the victims of the 1915 tragedy, expressing its sincere condolences in connection with those tragic events.
The memory of the Armenian Genocide, which occurred 110 years ago, is not only a tribute to the victims but also a reminder of the necessity to preserve historical truth, and to oppose any manifestations of violence, intolerance, and discrimination.
The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire was the first genocide of the 20th century. Turkey has traditionally rejected accusations of the mass extermination of over 1.5 million Armenians. The fact of the Armenian Genocide has been incontrovertibly recognized by many states and a number of authoritative international organizations.
