On September 7, 2024, the presentation of the book “‘My Way.’ Music – Diplomacy – Music” by diplomat and composer D.V. Mnatsakanyan was held for members of the Council of Veterans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Foundation for Veterans of Diplomatic Service, the International Foreign Policy Association, the International Association of Public Diplomacy Experts, the Association of Young Diplomats, and the Association of Laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
The event which took place with the support of IAPDE was part of the cultural and educational campaign "Day of Karamzin."
The presentation was opened by the Director of the Ostafyevo Museum-Reserve, Yuri Evtyukhin.
Welcome speeches were delivered by honored guests: the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation V.I. Morozov; the Director of the Foundation for Veterans of Diplomatic Service, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation V.V. Chkhikvadze; member of the Board of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), Deputy Chairman of the FNCA ArmRos A.O. Abramyan; as well as by IAPDE President A.M. Khachatryan, General Director of the Association of Laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition A.M. Shcherbak, and Cultural Advisor to IAPDE L.G. Larina.
The event was hosted by Mikhail Segelman, a music critic, pianist, and expert.
A small concert featured Sona Arshakyan, pianist and international competition laureate, who performed works by David Mnatsakanyan "Ulrika" and "Christmas Fantasy." His piece "Spring" was performed by Mikhail Segelman. The well-known piece "My Way" was performed by the author himself.
The representative of the UAR, Aram Abramyan, read a poem titled "My Way" which he wrote specifically for this event as a poetic gift.
In recognition of David Mnatsakanyan's diplomatic merits and compositional talent, he was awarded the UAR medal "For Distinction."
As part of the cooperation agreement between IAPDE and the Ostafyevo-Russian Parnassus State Museum-Reserve, a guided tour of the museum was held for the event guests.
Following the release of the book at the end of August 2024, this has been the third presentation of the book by diplomat and composer David Mnatsakanyan, Chief Advisor to the President of IAPDE.
On August 30, 2024, the book was presented at the "Saturn" Palace (Ramenskoye), and on September 2, it was presented in the Grand Hall of the Representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg.
